I’ll work smoothly with Bello, others — Minister of State assures

Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu has pledged to ensure harmonious working relationship with her senior counterpart, the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, the FCT Administration (FCTA) workforce and other stakeholders.

Dr. Aliyu gave the assurance when members of the FCT press corps led by its Chairman, Mr. Ikharo Attah, paid her a congratulatory visit early last week in Abuja. The Minister of State expressed determination to work closely with Bello to move FCTA forward and ensure rapid development of the Territory socially and economically.

According to her, harmonious working relationship between the two Ministers as well as staff of FCTA was imperative because it was the most essential ingredient for sustainable development and actualizing President Muhammadu Buhari’s vision for the Territory. Promising, further, to operate an open-door administration, she urged members of the corps to advise her whenever necessary and solicited their support in the area of publicity to showcase the achievements so far recorded and those to be notched by both FCTA and President Buhari.

Speaking earlier, Attah stressed the need for cordial working relationship between the two Ministers, recalling that “certain feathers were ruffled in the past between Ministers of State and senior Ministers. While the bad blood lasted between the past two Ministers, development of the Territory and welfare of the residents received little attention.” Attah, however, pledged that FCT press corps would cover activities of the Administration as stakeholders while keeping to the journalism tenets of objectivity, fairness and balance
