IN THE BUILDUP TO THE NOVEMBER 11 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION IN IMO, SIMON EBEGBULEM COMMISSIONER FOR TRADE AND INVESTMENT AND A CORE UZODIMMA DESCIPLE CANVASSES FOR SUPPORT FOR THE GOVERNOR’S RE-ELECTION EMPHASISING THAT WILL ONLY BE A DAY OF GRATITUDE TO THE GOVERNOR’ BY IMO INDIGENES.

As the November 11 date for Imo governorship election approaches, political parties are jostling and strategizing to clinch the governorship in the state.

In this regards, t he sitting governor, Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma’s structure is already making moves to break the support the support base of the other parties to achieve his re election.
In a chat with Verbatim in his office recently, Simeon Ebegbulem, commissioner for trade and investment in the state said nothing else is expected of the people of the state other than using that election to appreciate the governor for all has done in the state since he.assumed office, January 14, 2020.
During the interview, Ebegbulem, a seasoned journalist said that Governor Uzodimma is a prayer answered and God’s gift to Imo. He said the state was dilapidated I’m a sectors because.of successive bad administrations who left the state in a state of comatose and stagnation.
He said it did not come as a suprise to those who knew the governor’s pedigree when he hit the ground running immediately upon his inauguration stating that Imo Indegenes have now seen the difference between his administration and the previous ones.
He mentioned the completion of the Owerri – Okigwe road, Owerri – Orlu road and the ongoing Owerri – Umuahia road which is still under construction as lofty landmark achievements that places the governor on the.minds of Imo people.
He also listed other achievements of the governor to includes numerous roads within the state capital, accurate verification.and payment of pensions, youth empowerment which has benefitted over thousands of Imo youths, the dredging of the Oguta lake, upliftment of the Alvan Ikoku federal college of education to federal university of Education.
Other achievements of the governor according to Ebegbulem include the sanitisation of the state civil service, creating political spaces for the youths to prove his belief in the fact that youths are the leaders of tomorrow and the renovation of the legendary Eke Ukwu Owerri which he said he is uplifting to an international standard as it has provisions for a hospital, police post and others.
Ebegbulem added that he is certain the governor will be re elected as the people of the state have taken note of all he has been able to put on ground in his first three years adding that the opposition candidates stand no.chance as the governor according to h is a very strong rooted achiever.
Ebegbulem however said that recent wave of insecurity I’m the south east region of the country has most adversely affected the economy of the zone and appealed to the gun men to kindly sheat their swords and embrace dialogue.
